Week 1: May 26-29 Water Week A
Water Week invites campers to explore the science of water through hands-on experiments, playful engineering challenges, and outdoor discovery. Campers will investigate how water moves, splashes, flows, and changes, using curiosity and creativity to test ideas and solve problems. Daily water play adds a joyful, sensory-rich layer to learning, making this week the perfect blend of science and summer fun.
Week 2: June 1-5 Builders Week A
Builders Week invites campers to design, build, and test structures using everyday materials. Through open-ended challenges, campers explore balance, strength, and stability while developing problem-solving and collaboration skills. This week encourages imagination, hands-on learning, and confidence as campers bring big ideas to life.
Week 3: June 8-12 Nature Lab Week A
Nature Lab invites campers to slow down and explore the natural world through observation, hands-on investigation, and creative expression. Campers will engage with plants, animals, and natural materials while developing curiosity, awareness, and respect for the environment. This week blends outdoor science, art, and exploration in a calm, curiosity-driven setting.
Week 4: June 15-19 Inventors and Makers Week A
Inventors & Makers Week invites campers to turn ideas into creations through hands-on building and tinkering. Campers explore how things work, experiment with simple machines, and design solutions to playful challenges. This week celebrates creativity, problem-solving, and the freedom to test, fail, and try again.
Week 5: June 22-26 Creative Motion Week A
Creative Motion blends art, movement, and science through hands-on, outdoor exploration. Campers will experiment with motion, materials, and creative expression while engaging in open-ended art and design challenges. This week emphasizes creativity, exploration, and joyful experimentation.
Week 6: June 29-July 3 Water Week B
Water Week B builds on earlier explorations with new challenges that encourage deeper thinking, collaboration, and experimentation. Campers will revisit water-based concepts with fresh constraints, new materials, and more complex problem-solving opportunities. This week emphasizes redesign, teamwork, and creative thinking while continuing to celebrate the fun and freedom of water play.
Week 7: July 6-10 Builder Week B
Builders Week B introduces new design constraints and extended challenges that invite campers to refine their thinking and push their creations further. Campers will revisit building concepts with an emphasis on redesign, improvement, and teamwork. This week supports deeper exploration of engineering ideas while keeping creativity and fun at the center.
Week 8: July 13-17 Nature Lab Week B
Nature Lab Week B encourages campers to deepen their understanding of nature through more detailed observation, connections, and inquiry. Campers will revisit familiar outdoor environments with new questions, challenges, and creative lenses. This week emphasizes critical thinking, environmental awareness, and thoughtful exploration of the world around us.
Week 9: July 20-24 Inventors and Makers Week B
Inventors and Makers Week B offers expanded challenges that invite campers to refine, improve, and rethink their designs. Campers will build on prior ideas using new constraints, collaboration, and deeper problem-solving strategies. This week emphasizes innovation, persistence, and creative growth in a supportive maker environment.
Week 10: July 27-31 Creative Motion Week B
Creative Motion Week B builds on earlier explorations with extended projects and collaborative challenges. Campers will revisit creative concepts through new materials, shared designs, and deeper experimentation with motion and form. This week highlights collaboration, creative problem-solving, and artistic confidence.
Week 11: August 3-7 Summer Finale
Summer Finale Week is a playful, joy-filled celebration of summer at Alma. Campers will enjoy a mix of water-based challenges, outdoor games, and creative exploration designed to wrap up the season with fun, connection, and movement. This week emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and summer joy while giving campers plenty of space to play, experiment, and celebrate the end of camp.
